Had a great time with the Wavster. It was non stop action all three days. A very challenging spot to fish, mostly off the reefs with rocky structures around. You had to stop the fish before it got into the rocks, about 25 feet in depht. So many yellows. It was hard to get the bigger ones cause of all the 10 to 16#ers around. I got lucky and brought in one 35lber.

Guys, it was a great trip. Dave and I both have received several requests
for more information about the location. In in the spirit of Baja discovery, Dave and I agreed not to disclose the location. I'm asking others that may recognize this location to not disclose it so that this fishery remains something that others can discover on their own... Get out there and get some fish! ![]() |

Sorry,I don't agree. The true baja spirit of discovery does not include a two page ad on both yak boards. Unless I'm invited to someone else's secret spot - I either post the location or completely STFU. If I have done that in the past, which I don't think I have. I apologize, but I've had it with diver/surfer mentality. Punta Abreojos has more YT in it than you'll ever put a dent in. The YT fishery is hit for hudreds a fish per panga daily. The pangas use #200 hand line while trolling an iron. Hardly anyone fishes bait. ![]() The only hazard is the wind and a south swell. The people are the nicest in baja. The road is almost complete. BTW: congrats on the good fishing. I can say that in 5 years of fishing there I have never caught so many yt on the yak... well not in abreojos ![]() I' leaving on the 8th. I'll be there for 4 days fishing the yak and panga. I heard there's a good dorado bite going on. Last edited by aguachico; 11-02-2007 at 08:42 PM. |
