Damn Chris.. That sucks. They surf was pretty dicey yesterday evening. Short interval surf, accompanied by a couple of thumpers. I made it out/in pretty unscathed, but I found myself too far inside for a set. It definitely kept me on my toes. I hope they find their way back to you.

Sorry to hear about that! It was pretty dicey for me as well yesterday, I got pretty wet landing, but luckily avoided the flip. Hopefully theres a chance it will wash up on shore and someone will turn it into the lifeguard station. You should definitely check there the next time you're at La Jolla.
(BTW I was the kid packing my tan Revo in the white F-150 next to you)

bummer about your lost stuff, but are you saying there is now a treble hooked iron somewhere in the surf zone?

Actually, it was in the back of someone's truck as of 7:00 Sat morn.
I was getting my stuff ready to launch Sat morning while someone was walking their kayak out through the surf. He came back in with a very nice looking rod and Torium reel. He handed it off to someone else getting ready who put it in his truck.

Cool

Thanks for the heads up. It was pretty shallow but i just couldnt seem to spot it. Lets see if the person finding it cares about getting it back to me.....be an interesting study in human behaviour. Good luck out there guys. This was the rare landing where I forgot to leash up and actually should have. NEVER AGAIN.

We all learn that we are not perfect, I lost 4 rods and was in the bay. I know the heart break of loosing a good rod. From my flip over I always have my rod leashed now, If in LJ my gear is stowed, a little extra time is money not spent double. I have also donated one to LJ.
PS if you need new rods I have a rod building shop. Drop me an e-mail if you want.
