I use 68 when I know some friends are in the vicinity tuned in; I think is time kayakers in La Jolla tune into the same channel, then everybody knows what's going on and who's in the area, etc. So what channel can we use?

That's a good idea to use the same channel - maybe one that is related to the area zip code or local address near the launch area.... Or the website, something that is easy to remember.... in case I get confused!
