the key is to get a kayak or kayak fishing specific model...
these have a very flat almost non existent lower back portion... that's what makes them comfy in the kayak seat... a ski vest or the like will not be comfortable in a kayak seat! if it aint comfy...you aint gonna wear it! to me, not wearing it would be like riding motocross without a helmet... it's just part of the sport!
