That's a nice brute of a yellow, great video, and I loved the soundtrack, who plays that?
I don't want to criticize success, but rather offer some advice. If your brother keeps his left hand on the rod butt above the reel while he's fighting the fish, he'll get better leverage, and make it easier when fighting big fish. It also frees the right hand to remain on the reel handle, or even help raise the rod (on top of the left). Keeping the rod pointed to the front of the kayak until the fish is ready to gaff, is also a big help. But, what do I know, I haven't hooked a yellow in 2 years.
A big congratulations on a great trip, and also a big thanks for the timely report (a rarity).

Very nice fish. Get a tethered Game Clip on that sucker soon as it is gaffed, cause you don't want to lose a trophy like that. Kewl Vid.

Nice fish.

An unorthodox rod technique. Does he have an injury to his left arm?

Very good advice, too. Even an exhausted fish with a gaff hole in him, can have one surprising kick left in him, especially one that big.

was just going to say the same thing. and it also keeps slack out of the line, which there was alot of. fish could have thrown that hook.

but who cares, he landed it! CONGRATS!
