I was hoping this thread would be taken down by the time I got off work. If anything, we as fisherman could learn something from the gay rights activists. If you f--- with them or their rights, they are going to fight back, and make you pay!! Not like a bunch of GD apathetic fisherman. For those of you that sat through those mind numbing MLPA meetings or are giving $$ for legal fees my comment is not directed at you. Watch as gay rights activists get prop 8 repealed--a lesson to be learned.

Well said Jim Day. Very articulate and thought out responses with which I agree fully. Now let's talk about the Fred Hall Show!

and that we are all basically the same race just with various physical characteristics created by regional isolation

Actually sir, race, is a social construct. But is also ontolgically subjective. There was time when people weren't classifed by white, black, asian, etc.

Take for instance Africans in America that were brought over as indentured servents. After they served their time, they were free. Only after the fear of losing hegemonic control throughout the white population, they were classified by the color of their skin.

The same applies to culture and religion. All social consturcts! My question has alway been: Once people understand that there is no "right" or "wrong," what will happen next? Then comes into play moral subjectivity, which is another debate.

On another note...I enjoy fishing. But I also enjoy a good sociological debate.

Let's all don our smoking jackets and pipes and get this debate swinging in full fashion.

I believe the argument at hand is science vs. magic
