Yes, launch as far south as you can park. Then paddle out at a 45 degree angle to the beach going south again. That will put you in the easiest area to navigate the surf if there is any. There was next to none on Mon. when we went out.

![]() For those who havent been to San Onofre beach park before... it opens at dawn you pay $10 and enter the parking lot from the north end by the military campground (church's) so if you drive all the way to the end of the lot it is the southern end. Old man's is where the big palapa and surfboard weathervain is. Its a super secret spot ![]() ![]() DID SOMEBODY SAY SQUI-SQUI-SQUID?!?!?!?! hahaha go get'em guys and be sure to heckle all those hardcore san o locals ![]() And watch out of the juvenile GWS's ![]() |
