Sorry, but it does not read like you have interpreted it. In your response you used "a" which I pointed out for you, implying you were under the impression it was 1x 100# Halibut. I'm confused on your defense.

However, I'm not here to get into a debate over grammar. Good day sir.
No need for the condecending gradeschool grammar lesson. If you were to read it again, you might see the words "is about as true" in the sentence that you are paraphrasing. This would indicate that I believe both the statement and the idea mentioned to be untrue. Unless of course you believe one or both of them to be true in themselves.
