nice gaff; not sure though the type of shaft you bought. if it is a women's flex or senior flex shaft it may be a little whippy or might give more when you try to plunge that gaff into the fish.
for the guys who may want to do this themselves they should consider a stiff or reg flex shaft. take a look at the flex and see if it is a (s) or (r) flex. just my few cents worth of comments. but nice gaff again and good job on the wrap. |

radddd....i work at a local country club and a member broke their golf ball retriever(for hitting in the lake)...metal tube about 3/4 inch wide. Hollow on the inside but thick enough walls to sustain some pressure it seems. Been putting off making a gaff out of it for a couple weeks but you may have inspired me.

Great looking gaff, might have to borrow the idea. Anyone know where I can see a tutorial on how to wrap?

Thanks for the positive feedback. Dave K., I'll have some thing covering the tip when I head out. I usually just stab a tennis ball on the end. I find I get get it off with my feet when I need to. I'm not sure what kind of club I used. There was a whole big can of them to choose from. Its carbon fiber and felt about as stiff as a thin piece of calcutta would be. For $5 I figured if it didn't work I get get a few more. Pinoy, basic wrapping is pretty easy. You can take it as far as you want after that. Mike
