I made it out last week on the Dolphin III out of Point Loma. Same basic set up, couple rods, 30lb line and 3/o hooks, but the dines were a nice size. As was said, wide open Yellowfin! As for smallish, in the 10lb range, I have something to say about that ...

Went out last week on the Pacific Queen and used one 30 and one 40lb set up with Mustad 2/0 hooks. And I killed it with limits of BFT,YFT averaging 30lbs and YT.

My freezer is full of BFT/YFT/MAHI, get out there while they're still around. We also got into the 50# BFT, good times!

yep, the counts are still incredible. I want to go again, but my freezers are full as can be. Today it is a lobster for breakfast and WSB for dinner. And smoking yellowtail and tuna strips in between. Man, life is good.

Just trying to figure how to fit in an El Cajon (real) Oktoberfest meal in the early afternoon, with the pork legs..... and real German Beer...

all followed by a Charger victory! Gotta luv So. Cal fishing and life right now!
