That's exactly what I do... Anchor right in the middle of your traps and add a float to your anchor line with a clip or just tie up to it while your hoops are soaking. Never had a problem with scaring the bugs but may attract seals and other fisherman. But you can handle the seals with a sling shot and bait tubes.

You will get a kick out of this you guys!!!! 800 feet from where my hoopnet was set and stollen, is Ventura's DFG office, National Park Service, and Harbor Patrol LOL. When you call the local DFG they forward the call to Santa Barbara office. National park guys boats were all gone (out at Chanel Islands). Some Wardens went with the Harbor Patrol up north on a call. Coast Gaurd is ten miles away. So I was out of luck. oh where was my 1911 (45.cal acp) ![]() |
