Sticky!!! that's disgusting.

I'd think that it's obvious that's not me from that skinny roadbike 700c tube.

Back on topic you can actually take larger bike tube like for a 26x2.125 cut a piece a foot long, cut one side open and trim it into the same type shape used above.

You then glue it to your keel using spray contact trim adhesive. I've a friend that does that and it works. (I'm thinking he's not seen the post yet)

Inner tube rubber may not last as long but old tubes are free if you cycle a lot (I do) it lasts longer then duct tape, and it's softer then plastic so it won't scratch up your car paint.

You can request a free sample on their site. They sent me a 10" strip and I have been using it on the back keel. So far so good.
