The jet water propulsion system broke down and i was not able to keep maximum velocity against the mechanical system named the Mirage.

From an old friend:
"It isn't a huge difference if you just have to race somebody a short distance. Where you will really see the difference is if you paddle long distance."

Dana point is a lot of addleersmilie:

From baby beach to the headlands point/"south strands" area is about 6 miles round trip. Getting to Salt Creek is easily another 2 miles round trip.

The weather looked nice, it looks like you guys had fun. So just how far north did you get?

I was hoping Drake would find the secret YT spot and Jorge would show us what a 40 lb dana halibut looks like.

We made it pretty far, right back to where the buildings end and the cliffs begin again. We worked a lot of rock piles and structure.

I found Dana points secret Yellowtail spot. It was directly under the bait barge right in the marina.

They were only hitting the surface iron though.

All in all I had a blast. Could have been better fishing but I'm no stranger to a slow day.

Thanks for showing me around fellers. I'll be sure to let you know the next time we have a "WIDE OPEN BITE!" in my yard

Here's my mystery fish

It was in 40' of water
ran like a bat of of hell away from me
turned around and came back towards me
lost due to operator error

I'm thinking leopard shark or bat ray
