Trying to figure this out....

So a year from now your yak sinks or is stolen......

You have paid a 1000 deductible, 260 in premiums

You boat is no longer new so it's replacement value has dropped significantly.

You can sometimes find a used Pa for way below 2000.

So you are really insuring a value of about 700 dollars for 260 a year.

What are the odds of your Pa being "lost"?

If you end up making a claim two years from now, the numbers make even less sense.

Just trying to figure it out for myself.

I've been going through the same thought process, and figure it just is not worth it. Realistically the only thing I would be insuring against is theft, but my PA is cable locked while on the truck, and behind a locked garage door at home. I did have my HDS chartplotter insured though, its much more likely that someone could grab that and run...
