I once had a ling swallow a rockfish I hooked, ended up being my personal best ling
Those small rockfish are actually good for something after all. No where near as impressive as the ling trying to eat a halibut though.

I got hitchhiked by a nice Ling while rockfishing in Big Sur two summers ago. It let go about a foot below the surface. Pretty cool to see, plus it took my mind off of the Taxman for a while...
