Welcome. Ur gonna love this. Also, as far as info goes, ur in the right spot. These guys have helped me immensely! One of the first things I bought first is my PFD and my VHF radio. I guess because, even though I have not yet, I have LJ intentions. Safety first. But I got the FF next...Janine

I have a gift certificate for Amazon that will pretty much cover the Hobie bait tank if I want, but I might save it and pick up one made from a 5gal bucket. I've never really caught my own bait with a sabiki rig. If I'm in one of the bays do I just pretty much drop it over the side, or do I drift/troll with it? I guess a fish finder would make it a lot easier to find the baitfish.

Great advice above...
Try to read everything you can on the species you are targeting and go fish as often as you can. Everyday on the water is a learning experience whether you catch a fish or not. The San Diego scene is the best and the people there are even better. |

I just picked up a Hovbie livewell from another forum member and may get some fishing gear from a friend that no longer uses it. What do you guys think of a Calstar gg90j and Newell p338 with carbontex drags, plus a super seeker 270h and all of his irons ($100 worth) in a tackle box all for less thank the retail of one of the rods? Now I should be able to make it out to la jolla sooner than later.
