Hey Jimmy I was wondering about tying off to a kelp so you dont drift away...do you use a clamp? if so where do you get those clamps at? just wondering because clamping into the kelp is good for when u find that honey hole with for instance sheephead...

That clip is good, or the cheapest DYI solution is to simply grab a stringer and put it under your leg

Just grab a handful and pull it aboard. Then put your foot on it so it doesn't move and you're set.

You can get the clamps at Harbor or Home depot. I usually just take a rope with me and do a quick release knot. Either way the clamp of the release knot work the same. I use this meathod anytime I wand to vertically fish in the kelp. I've actually watched Calicos dart out from the kelp chasing the bait as it drops or comes up.

tie bungie cord through the hole. grab a bunch of stringers and use the bungee hooks to attach to your kayak. I think they sell these at HD for $9

I like to grab a stringer and wrap it around one of my rocket launchers. When it's time to go, pull out the launcher and your off. Keeps the boat pointed the right way too.

I use an old surf leash, bunch up a string and velco the leash around the kelp lile you would your ankle. And of course tie the other end to the yak so that you're inline with the current....

Hey Josh, I can't find these at Walmart or online. I'm just searching wrong. It's not called a "bungee hook".. is there a specific name for this item? or a link would be even better? Thanks..
