I used a clam clamp with a holesaw for mounting wires through the hull.

anything that can drill a hole the size that you want it is something that would work. i use all types of drill bits and reamers. i also purchase rubber stoppers from lowes or home depot to plug up some of the larger holes that i drill (transducer + power cable for FF). just make sure to measure it out as much as possible to avoid drilling an unwanted hole.
