Thanks waiting for a travel mileage/per diem check for a couple hundred $. Will catch up to you when it arrives.
Great looking quality ('sick' looking gaffs).
Wishing you much success in this endeavor,
Robert.

Spottie Slayer, thanks for the purchase, hope you get to stick something good on your new kayak with your new gaff!

Still have a 2.5 for sale.

Arcos157,
Thanks for the purchase, as your gaff is in the mail or hopefully in your hands.

I can make a few more if anyone is interested.

I "need" another

Gaffs look really good. I got a new one a month or so ago, and now am kicking myself. Maybe I can conjure up a reason to buy another. Hummmm. Maybe a smaller gaff to carry on those quick trips that I can't get the yak out. Dragging a three footer around when you only have 2 hours can be a hassle. Any chance you can make something half the size with same quality. Possibly with wrist type loop? A man can dream can't he!

Cadillyak,
Thanks for the comment. Yes I can make a gaff to any size you want with a wrist loop. Let me know.

off topic here but... how do you prevent rust on the hook?

I sand off rust and use dielectric grease but it always gets rusty again.

Tin Slayer says the hooks are S/S. My gaff just arrived from UPS this morning. Nice, light, floats, and looks great, well made!

Thanks

Have you tried rinsing in fresh water throughly wiping dry let air dry for 24 hrs then wipe down with corrosion X or Break free on a rag? That's the only thing I can think of. I hope it helps!
Then you may have to face the fact that the hook on the gaff is made from cheap SS and may have to deal with it until you replace the gaff...

The gaff hook I use is a Mustad stainless steel hook, it's the same hook all sport boats use too. Rinsing your gaff off with freshwater and drying should keep it looking nice.

Robert, thanks for the business and the compliments. Much appreciated!
