Even on trips where there are just 1 or 2 it really crowds up the deck which is already a problem on these trips due to the amount of gear that folks bring.

The weight of the PA is only a small part of the reasoning, there are plenty of guys that load up their Malibus and make them just as heavy as a PA.

All 5 trips we are running in 2013 filled up no problem without people being allowed to bring PA's. Obviously this change didnt hurt peoples decision to go and most everybody has been very understanding and have made other arrangements so that they could still attend.
Frank, leave the bbq grill, table saw, the welder, 84" big screen and the partridge in a pear tree at home.

can't wait!!

Any advice for a newbie? How's the weather going to be? I've seen video and seems like people wear breathable waders or long pants? Is it going to be that cold? I was hoping to get by with swim trunks or board shorts. What kind of bait will be provided? Anchovies? Sardines? Mix? Also, any strategy or rigging tips would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the Navy is going to be having some MAJOR closures all the way until winter, with Pyramid Cove constantly closed. Fish dope is saying they are kicking everyone out every morning at 5am.

*Edit at closer inspection..the areas outlined in black have specific daily hours of operations. Weekends are generally not as bad.

I usually wear waders in the morning and change to my convertible pants after lunch if the sun is shining

duh!!.. why didn't that occur to me?
I guess we lunch back on the boat? Jor, Are you going on this trip?

Little concerned about possible big swells and wind, mainly because of my son.. but I think he'll be ok. We've handled some big water at Newport before... but he's never been on a 2.5 day boat trip. Time for him to man up!

I'm getting so excited about this trip, having trouble sleeping already!
