a 7'9"-8' med heavy to heavy. Calico/ sand bass. I wouldn't use it for anything else. Could it handle it? yes it could, but thats not what its made for.

If you want a halibut/yellow/cbass reel go with something like a torium 16.

Abu Garcia Volatile VOLC80-6 or VOLC80-7. The 80-6 is a 8' med/heavy fast action rod and the 80-7 is a heavy fast action. The 80-7 is a beast. Both the rods were designed to fish with the Toro 50 and are only $139.

I just put a Terramar 8' 15-30 MH on mine and bought a second Toro 50 to replace what was lost last weekend.
