I was one of those views.
My plans are iffy for Sat. otherwise I would have said sure you can tag along, but I'll warn you I'm no expert if we do go. swellwatch forecast looks good: http://forecasts.surfingmagazine.com...e_satellite_-1 and magicseaweed looks good too http://magicseaweed.com/Scripps-Pier...rf-Report/296/ (but I have heard some don't like this site due to its inaccurate reports). I'm not seeing any wind issues either. 10mph isn't ideal, but it is manageable. Good luck! |

Weather is looking OK:
0-1 foot swells with 11 second periodsMore-than-likely we'll be in La Jolla around 6:30A - 7:00A. Any final words of wisdom for La Jolla Virgins? Are we crazy for going out in a 6-8mph wind? ![]() |

Unless there was a change of lightning I'de be going no matter what but I'm sitting here with a cast on my leg after foot surgery about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I can't wait to have it off because there is no better place to be fishing around southern california than La Jolla and I miss it right now really bad. Keep posting about all the trips cause it's how I can make it, till the foot heals. Tight lines everyone

I feel your pain. Posted twice. A lot of views...no comments. No Biggs. Fishing is an art...you learn stuff without distractions on your own. But this is a forum and you got some hints. Best luck for someone new.... Watch the birds.... If they are diving and going crazy... They are on bait fish and sometimes a bigger fella is hanging around. So drop a Sabiki rig and at least pull on some fish...even throw an iron on the bottom so it looks like it's chasing. Try fly lining. Or some dropper loops.... Make sure you have some deep and surface irons- scrambled eggs are nice. And maybe a few swims for some bass by the kelp.... Either way if all else fails... Hit up some bait fish... Still fun to catch especially if your new. But good luck..tight lines... And bent rods...
