What really grinds my gears

Feel free to post what grinds your gears.

I'll start.

When your fishing...actively casting especially and another yak literally paddles/peddles directly in between you and where you just cast and drags a bait over your line.

PB's operated by idiots! I'm smaller and quieter then you are, don't come right up on me with your motor idling at half WOT and start talking to me about the noise benefits of being on a kayak while I'm soaking live bait.

People that chastise me for being an angler when I land. "Did you have fun killing fish today"?
Me, "Have you eaten fish in the last year?"
Smarmy lady, "Yes"
Me, "What kinds?"
Lady, "Halibut, Mahi, Tuna and Monkfish."
Me, "That Monkfish was caught using a bottom trawler. They literally scape the seafloor clean a mile at a time. They keep the desirable fish and throw the rest overboard. Your one piece of Monkfish killed more animals than I ever will in a lifetime of kayak fishing. Did you have fun killing those animals?"

I was at Lj couple weeks back

And I saw a power boat going wide open , est 25 - 30 mph , looked like 40 mph pulling a ski , 100 yards off shore , and 15 -20 ft away from a fishing yak . Anyone we know .? Chime in please.

Summer time, bathers in the water at La Jolla where the sign says Boat Launch Area and you are coming in the surf. The dummies are standing in 2 to 3 feet of water looking out at their friends in rental kayaks. They're not paying attention to the kayaks landing and the surf sometimes takes you right at them. I've had a woman stand there while I'm yelling at her Watch out, Watch out. At the end the kayak hit her (lucky for her no too hard), but I wanted to say to to her "What the F*** where you thinking!)

When the tourists ask "Did you catch that here?" right after you land. I have started telling them that it is my bait that I brought with me.

Was that you on a pa? I ran into a few guys who I chatted with. But some guy on a pa just hauled @$$ past me and didn't even say a word.

Poachers.

Almost every time I fish DP I see at least one. It's the lady that "stretched" her halibut, or the guy that has a 12" sandbass on his clip, or the oriental guy that tosses everything he catches in his bucket no matter the size.

Hey now, not all orientals are poachers! That's stereotyping! That's like me saying the last time I was fishing out of Ventura harbor I watched a group of Mexicans fishing the wall, they put every single fish they caught into a bucket regardless of species or size......wait a minute, that's actually what happened. Continue with the racial profiling....

Oriental is a term that I hope died out in the 60s.

Asian is the preferred moniker now.

I actually take offense to both those terms and prefer panda or slanted eyes.

1. Not getting on the water enough.

2. Everytime I stand up in the PA and cast, a PB comes charging full blast at me. If there was a YT around, it gone now.

3. Running out of beer.
