how should I spool my senator 3/0 - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

I had a 3/0 spooled with mono 40# back when I fished a skiff and landed a 73# Bigeye with it, I'd be worried about the narrower spectra getting in the big gap between the spool and frame.
