I always admired people surfed their kayak in with fishing rods/ GoPro / gaff....etc sticking up to the sky.
I don't trust my skill or luck.. I stow everything, tie my rods flat to my kayak and bail out before landing , grab my kayak side handle and let the surf push me in.. Not pretty, but I never lost a thing this way... Pretty suck to lose a rod, get sand in the reel.... or crack that expensive GoPro...
