2. Now I know why they say bananas are bad luck when fishing out on a Kayak! At least now I took a bath this week!

She did make it look easy though... (note the proper perpendicular form) and her 2 Yellow Tail.

This was on Wednesday. Slow fishing in the morning gave way to a hot YT bite around 11:00am. I had a very cool experience. I was trolling a 1oz carolina rigged greenback about 50 feet back, and another pmac way out the back flylined...

So I'm working deep bait schools in about 120' depth. Lots of little plover birds on the surface picking at copepods or some tiny plankton. There's also lots of greenbacks working the plankton and I think I am seeing the yellows pop up sporadically. My carolina rig gets rocked and she runs out to deeper water. No need to rush her, and she ran straight down pretty much. I decided to leave my flyline out whilst fighting the first fish, which is generally a good way to lose a hookup. As soon as i got the first yellow boated and bled, my flyliner gets crushed and its round two. This one tied up in the kelp a bit, but with a little fancy technique, had the second fish to gaff in short order. Landed both YT within about 20 minutes!
Congrats Guys!

Sounds like a fun 20 minutes on the water! I am very impressed that you managed to have such an epic dismount. Somehow you had the presence of mind to toss the fish in the yak before you jumped in, your yak stayed upright, rods stayed in the holders, and you didn't even lose your hat!

Now, inquiring minds want to know...do waders fill with water when you fall in he drink?
