Are you looking for a sail for fishing or a dedicated one for recreational sailing?
As I thought my disability might have diminished my ability to peddle "all day" after being unable to exercise for a few years, I opted for a "WindPaddle" sail I bought on Amazon for my OB. It seemed like a much better/cheaper alternative and much less cumbersome! If your looking for a dedicated sail for sailing purposes then by all means look into the HOBIE sail but if you're looking for something to help you get around while fishing then this might be a good alternative to look into! OEX wasn't selling them yet when I bought mine however I believe it's on their webstore now. ![]() FFY ![]() Last edited by FlyFishinYakr; 02-06-2015 at 07:29 AM. |

I would suggest buying the AMAs if you decide to do so.

The sail gets in the way when you are fishing.

Fish up wind, come home down wind. Get an umbrella. Contact Parrotfish Paul
that is what he does when he fishes Gonzaga with us. Not a great sail but it usually is good enough to get him home.

Just used my sail for the first time in LJ last Tuesday after a long day. My legs were toast. Despite the lack of wind, It definitely gave my legs a small break on my way back to the launch. I think I'm liking it.

It's YOUR money, Less than $ 25 vs ...........................if it is cheap, works for you and makes your days on the water easier why not. Just don't get one in pink unless you want some of these guys to copy you.

There is a technical answer, but the gist of it is...it is not directly upwind.
