Thanks a lot, gents.
I'll be rolling out on an ascend d10t so it's a 10 ft'r, will that be a tad small? And about how far off from launch are the fishing grounds. |

If you have an iPhone you can grab the free Fish Alerts app, it'll tell you if you are in the correct spot or not.

Make sure to have leashes on "everything" unless you want to be shopping for new gear.

This time of year you won't be alone so you can see where others are catching bait, or trying to catch bait grrr, and fishing. When you head strait out from the beach you will pass some tall white buoys. These ARE NOT at the reserve boundary. They mark a 5 mph zone. The boundary is another at least 100 yards out. And its not marked. You can start fishing around that point. There are often bass here but most start looking for bait here as they head out farther west then south targeting yt. So you can fish LJ with a mile paddle one way. You can also fish right in the kelp beds if you want and not have to paddle so far if you don't want to. Start easy and find your comfort zone. And as for fish size, any day of the year at and time of day LJ can produce trophy fish. Thats one of the things that makes LJ a great place to fish. Mike

Thanks Mike. I'll be out there at the end of the month and hope to tag onto a couple people heading out. I'll be back to update with a report. Again, thanks guy for the help. |
