A rig consisting of a 3 way swivel works very well.

30" from the 3 way to 3-4 oz.sinker,

Five feet (5) of flou. leader to Rapela lure.


The 6X Jr. maybe too heavy for kayak. Regular which is used as surface iron should be better.

I'll give the iron a try. I would assume a surface iron would work better than a yo yo iron. Is that correct?
