While this appears to be a good bag (looks like HD PVC material [like my drift raft]) for a top-side catch bag, I prefer to keep my catch in the hull to keep my kayak from being "top-heavy" upon landing.
For the price I'd buy my Canyon Redfish/Kayak bag ($100) all over again. For about $12 more I'd think about one of these ![]() http://www.amazon.com/Reliable-Fishi...1713829&sr=1-6 Although I'm currently thinking about one of these also; http://www.amazon.com/Sea-Angler-Gea...cm_wl_huc_item (smaller 16" width might fit my Outback better) although unsure about construction quality. Unless you really need water tight storage...the reliable is awesome, super strong zipper and lining keeps your fish cold all day. I have a reliable on the way as my fishing buddy has one and I just had to get one they work so well... Having said all that I'm sure the others work fine. Btw we have had a 54 inch wsb (cut in half)stuffed in there and he put 3 yellowtail in there last trip no problem...Happy shopping

Thanks
All,
Thanks for the replies. I want water tight because I want the bag to be able to go in the car as well. I think I will go with the Canyon Red Fish. The AMAZON reviews on the ice mule suggested that the liner was weak and leaky. Otherwize it looks like a good idea. Perhaps they will upgrade it in the future. $159 is too much for a non 5-star product. Matt Last edited by iethinker; 09-08-2015 at 06:47 AM. |

The reliable is water tight and wont leak unless you tip it upside down. It's the zippers that leak on it, but that mean it would need to lay fairly flat in the car. I have heard good things about the canyon. Post up a review when you can I'd like to see how well you like it...
