I purchased one about 8 years ago at Walmart, strapped it on tight, tested in the water, kept me afloat, didn't shift around, and I still use it every time I go out. It's comfortable, safe, and it cost $20. I won't go on the water without it. You might want to venture out with someone who has experience, just to show you the ropes. Safety first is the key.

I wear a NRS Chinook which is quite comfortable. I wear it every time and completely forget that it is even there. It'll cost over a hundred bucks, but I feel like it's worth the money. I'd recommend spending your money on the necessities first before venturing into stuff like a bait tank.

OEX has a great starter bait tank. I made one just like it for about the same price minus gas, glue, and my time.
![]() My first PFD was a cheapo 15 dolla special just to fulfill the law requirement. Eventually ended up with a Stolhquist that I actually wear and stuff the pockets with. Andy posted up some affordable Cracka Dawn PFDs here, not sure if any left but hit him up... http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...ad.php?t=27864
