Sweet! I am surprised we did not see the numbers of YT this winter that we saw last year on the rockfish spots up north of SD?

Most yakkers keep hush-hush about yellowtail caught outside of La Jolla. Good on you for sharing. Nice catches!!

Thanks for the responses and encouraging comments. It was very nice to meet Momo, Kevin, and... (didn't catch the 3rd name). Very friendly, experienced, and helpful guys that it would be a pleasure to fish w in the future. Thanks for the use of your scale.
YT Where, how, what, etc.? Fish So. OC 35-100ft depth, used dropper loop rig, 1-4 oz weight, 30# mono leader, braid back line, greenback mac bait. Four YT taken this Fall and winter at various depth (20-90ft) in water column, both near structure and away from any structure. Basically they are where you find them and that changes from day to day and hour to hour. Go get 'em and Good luck! |
