Black and White Party at the Jewel
Work out tip of the month: Catch a 80-100lb black sea bass, have your rudder seize up, get towed for about 20 minutes, release said black sea bass ( swam away strong), immediately drop another powerbait down, catch a 42lb white sea bass, paddle into shore for about 90 minutes fighting current and swell, land without flipping, get handed a glass of wine by a midwestern tourist group, sit and drink a glass of wine by their bon fire and explain fish species to said tourist. Load up gear and head home. The experience was humbling. BTW, Chuck D is a beast for being able to paddle in 100lbs of wsb in an outback. One fish is plenty but gets eaten up pretty quickly by friends and family. The only logical thing is to try to get more: 10lbs more to be exact. 52lbs after bleed and on ice. Both bass were FULL of red crab, kelp crab, and miscellaneous crabs. Team Sewer must have been in the area recently. Food porn: White sea bass, bacon, Mac n Cheese chimichurri collars Don't forget about the cheeks!! |

It might be, it sure felt heavier than 52lbs. My digital scale is only rated to 50lbs...so not sure how accurate it would be with something over 50. I probably should have taken it to a shop to get it weighed. It was 53 inches long and it was thick. I'll let the experts give a estimated weight with that measurement

Those chimichurri collars look great and must be super tasty. Having been born in Argentina I can tell you chimichurri, is just awesome on any kind of meat. All your dishes look good but you got me wanting some WSB or Yellowtail with chimichurri right now. Thanks for sharing and congrats on the fine trophies.

((Girth x Girth) x Length) / 800 = weight in pounds
(girth and length are inches) 30x30x52/800 =58.2 |
