I just run my hook up through the roof of the mouth instead of sideways through the nose and problem solved.

The bead is a good idea. Like other posters said, I've found hooking the baits up thru the nose to be better than across. Mike

1/0 ringed short shank through nose .seldome will it double pin bait . great for yellows , not so sure for Seabass . most peps like huge hooks for wsb . the bait will last hours if needed .

someone posted a video about sewing bait onto the hook, does anyone have that link. It looks to me like the best way to present live bait.

I have only found this to be a problem when the hook is too big for the bait.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ihUeoJ6CKbk. This is a pretty good tutorial. I started bridling baits last summer. Bait was hard to catch and I wanted to make the most of what I had. Takes a little practice to do it fast but I found the baits swam better, lived longer, the hooks didn't turn back in to the baits, and I could use bigger hooks. Mike
