Are those fishing the halibut division allowed to catch bait next to the bait barge? Less than 20 yds away? If not, are we allowed to catch bait next to bait barge prior to the tournament check-in/ start and use them?

I don't believe there are any restrictions on where you can make bait if you're fishing for halibut. I believe the bait barge is off limits for those fishing bass

So if we're only fishing for halibut, can we fish for halibut near the bait barge?

You declare your division when you sign in. Halibut division is exempt from this.

I think the bait barge is a moot point, but we were asked to declare it off bounds and have. Eddie Howerton told me the big fish are not under the barge any way they are under the surrounding docks ............last year's winner Jeff?

Help Needed

Hey guys hope everyone is having a good Friday and excited about the tournament tomorrow. I know was and that's why I'm asking for help. Quick bio... I'm 25, USCG boatswains mate I've been in 6 years and on my 5th living in SD. I just started kayak fishing from a PA14 late last summer. I don't get out as often as I would like due to my secdual. Two days ago I fell on some unfortunate events. Some D*** slashed all 4 of my truck tires Tuesday night and I woke up to my truck setting on all 4 rims Wednesday morning. I dropped my truck off at the dealership to have fixed through my insurance. Needless to say my truck will not be ready till tomorrow Saturday 16th. I live in Claremont just off the 5 between sea world dr and balboa. I'm reaching out bc I really don't want to miss out on this opportunity to fish in the Mission Bay Classic as it will be my last bc I'll be transferring next year. If anyone is available to help transport myself and kayak I'm up to help out with gas, buying bait or a cold 12pack. Your call. If you're available please PM me I'll be on every few hours.

Kleake,
I'm a long time stalker, first time poster. I too live in Claremont and plan on fishing this Saturday. Many people on this site have helped me out and now I have the opportunity to give back. I will be more than willing to help you out as long as your ok with loading your PA on my roof rack cradles.

Halibut Rod

I feel fortunate to have won the Halibut Division rod in the raffle.

JeffB did an outstanding job building this rod. The workmanship is incredible.

Thank you JeffB!

I feel your fortune sir, First off would like to thank Kerry, OutlawAngler, and all others whom decided to throw their side tournament winning items into the main raffle, giving the rest of us more of a chance at some goodies! I came away with the Shimano Torium 20 and it is a lefty at that, could not have been more excited!

I was also fortunate enough to win this new Beautiful Camo X-13; an awesome addition to the arsenal, but even better, my pops does not have to float in his tube no more I would like to especially thank Iceman Andy, OEX, and Malibu Kayaks for getting this Beauty in the raffle.

This was an awesome event, and even cooler due to the fact all the proceeds go to Disabled Veterans, i will now continue to think of HOW in all my future endeavors. Thank you to all others whom hosted, and I am glad to have been able to participate for sure..

Till next year (;
