I like using weedless plastics for green bass in the Summer time. When the grass is thick everywhere it's a good tool to use. I use 6"-7" baits with an Owner 8/0 Beast hook.
![]() I fish it the exact same way I would for calicos in the kelp. Slow winding on top of grass matts and letting it fall into any openings. I was on a great weedless bite for a few weeks, then one day I couldn't get bit for hours. Out of frustration, I burned a bait back super fast and got crushed. Ended up landing a bunch of 3-5 lb bass that day but only got bit on the super fast retrieve. ![]()
