Sand dabs for halibut?

Anyone ever use them and had success? It seems that halibut will eat just about anything that comes across their noses so a dab doesn't seem that outrageous to use.

What would be the best way to hook one for a good bait presentation being flat and all?

I've hooked them in the mouth/ head. Even if their dead, they still look alive. You can also collar hook them and add a treble to either side of their body near the mid section.
