Looks like a fun outing! The red/gold Thomas Bouyant is easily one of my best trout lures.

Chunk of a catfish your buddy got! And those trout don't look too bad either. Mmmm... lol. How windy did it get yesterday? Silverwood is on my list, but the near 2 hours drive is usually pretty discouraging for a less productive day in comparison to the salt.

Weather report predicted 15 mph by 1:00 pm that day and I would say it was all of that and maybe more by the time we got back to the marina.

Wow that's worse than the majority of my trips. Thanks.

LMAO I almost couldn't agree more. I've never been productive at Silverwood when I had a boat either even though I'd love to try it in the yak. But last 2 trips in salt has been a stinker for me too. Thanks for the post OP

You just don't know what you're doing lol. Haven't been skunked yet on my salt trips or ever once at Silverwood.

LMFAO you got me! Only been fishing a year! Saltwater is easier IMO cause you can always catch mackerel (I say I get skunked cause I don't think those fish count lol) There is so much involved with fresh water fishing which I know takes years to get good at. I watch you tube a lot to learn techniques.

Maybe its because I know freshwater, but I find fishing in the Salt (chartered trips aside) much more difficult. Although the more I learn about the Salt, the more I come to realize its not THAT much different...
