The Mt Whitney hatchery is a beautiful place in Independence off the 395
https://www.wildlife.ca.gov/Fishing/.../Mount-Whitney I haven't been there for about 7 years but they have a nice pond full of brood stock that you can feed. (Bring quarters for the pellet machines) I don't think the hatchery itself is operational anymore but it's a nice scenic area to stop and enjoy the beauty. ![]() |

Campsite #23 at Silver Lake is up for grabs as of 1:20pm Thursday for a reservation for 6-4 thru 6-10...better hurry it will probably go quick...
