Yep mantis shrimp it was really big. I considered taking it home and cooking it up but didn’t want to destroy a finger in the process so let him go.

I read somewhere that a mantis shrimp can generate the power of a .22LR with its little claw. I looked up videos and it doesn’t seem too dangerous. Not worth the risk to me without being familiar with them.

https://video.nationalgeographic.com...-mantis-shrimp I ate one in Thailand. They are special. They are also amazing and complex creatures, so I felt guilty and did not want any more mantis shrimps killed on my behalf.
