I’ve had a hook stuck in my hand 3 times now!
The first time a barracuda exactly like yours. It kept shaking like crazy, hurt so bad.
Another time from a bass
And 3rd time from a hook on an anchor line.
I’m as careful as I can be at this point.

I got a small treble in my thumb today mishandling a dink bass. Luckily I backed it right out after I got the fish released.

That looks painful... Nice bonito though! I remember like 20 years ago when I was fishing for Pike on a river in Michigan, my cousin slipped in the boat and threw an entire open tackle box full of lures into my face. Fortunately only a few of them stuck and the hooks were small and came out easily

I worked on sportfishing boats for about 5 years and never got a hook in my hand. 5 years of kayak fishing has put two hooks in my hands. Moral: despite the temptation to unhook by hand, always use pliers or some other unhooking device to remove hooks. Especially multiple treble hooks.
