I was doing that the whole time lol. When it was out in front of me it just pulled me. Couldn’t take drag until it dove, so it was just the weight of the boat and I can push it around free swimming…. I’m sure on a regular boat this would have been 30-60 minute fight but I might as well have been putting 10lbs of drag on him for half of it.

I had just finished work and watched the tuna take you for a spin. It was twice as funny in fast motion. I could just make out some of your comments. Made my day. LOL.

Well earned Brother! I actually think it would have been an easier fight on a big kayak with a 2-speed reel. You would have had a lower center of gravity and would have been able to use the kayak's rail over resting the rod on your knee. That must have gotten tiring and looked uncomfortable.

It's good that the Kaboat has a big capacity. Had that been on a small kayak or Solo skiff, you might have had some weight issues.

That's when a sea anchor might help. Atleast when you finally got the tuna up, it was pretty dead so there was less concern with the gaff swinging towards the air pontoon.

That was awesome, lowprofile. Good thing you sped up the death spiral, otherwise the video would have been more than twice as long. Good patience, got a little worried on those first couple of missed gaff opportunities, that would always be my first worry with an inflatable. Still searching for one on my Solo Skiff. Tight Lines.

Yea I only cut out 90 mins of more spirals and yelling at the fish 😂

The gaff is fine, just keep the point up and don’t let it go under the boat.

I’m sure you’ll get one in the skiff! Just get out there early and go on the hunt!

I just redid mine with a little longer, it definitely helps near the boat and should help with getting cut off. Although I checked my rod I only got cut off once on and a good 80 yards is gone. I can tell because I marked the line on the water while trolling a bird and it was at the top of the spool.
