The hardest part about any of this is the owner snap ring

Technique is everything with snap ring pliers
If your not careful and slip ouch....
The pliers I have don't open the snap ring far enough, so I forced to shove an ice pick into the ring to open it wider.
I'm in the process of designing a hook safe snap ring jig device to put in my vice.
The green cord is a trophy snapped when it hit the deck on a 175 bluefin

I like it when the hooks are pulled tight

And there's no chance of snagging each other.
The problem is finding a boat that's not loaded with torpedo weights with hooks on them and rusty rebar....

If you use the heaviest snap rings on the market....

You can't go wrong with shimano with braid cutting
