Peach,
We purchase the $5 scoop of sardines at the bait receiver in the harbor. Our rigs are 3-way swivels, short leader (10 inches) to a 1oz. chrome torpedo and a 2 foot leader to a single hook with a treble hook trailer. We've had luck off of Doheny Beach and along the jetties. Good luck if you go.
