That's Limekiln State Beach, in southern Big Sur. It is a difficult lauch, a beach break that produces a lot of surge. Good timing is critical - you have to go on the lull.

That shore break can be so decieving. Marine St. can get similar to that depending on the tides. I know by kayak fishing during the day, and coming in at night with full awkward SCUBA gear!
