Pretty tough to say "I have never paddled one" then put out a definitive statement that one is faster than the other.
From someone who spent a ton of time in both I would say it is a push, they are very similar in speed. I will give the nod to the Prowler in rougher conditions and in the surf, it just handles them both better.
I will give the nod to the SPTW for comfort, I could sit in that thing all day and never think twice, not so much in the Prowler.
