Did most of my fishing off piers (Huntington, Newport & Balboa), jetties (Dana Point; long wall & Newport; short wall), Buddy Epsen's dock on Balboa Island and of course the 1/2 day, 3/4 day and all day open party boats from Art's Landing, 22nd Street, Redondo, Long Beach & San Diego. I remember as a kid fishing from the island in Dana Point harbor before it was finished.

Yes - I did in fact fish on this boat while in New Jersey. I would fill kill bags full of ice and head out Point Pleasant inlet for the Texas Tower to fish Bluefin Tuna. Caught some - lost some, they run big out there.

On calm days I could be out there pretty fast. Get home in a hurry too.

Gratuitous girlfriend shot up on the bow.

I didn't fish this one - although it was much faster and a little bigger.

Yep.. Tuna Boats come in all shapes and sizes.
We used to tow one of the boats down to Ft. Lauderdale for a couple of months.

Shooters and Bootleggers were regular hangouts. The pics are NSFW.

I had no idea so many people owned boats first.
Nice pics guys with some beautiful boats and quality fish.

So here's a few pics of mine:

Like I said the boat was 14ft, and it leaked whne I got it

Initially I just started to repair it, but fuel prices rose and got this idea of making it an economical alternative to big boat fishing, so I did a few modifications to the skiff, so I could fish further offshore.

Works great....

Caught some T sharks with it...

Some Tuna Offshore

Local (LA) Yellows

Lots of bugs

One thing I've not caught on it is a local billfish. Seven knockdowns but no Marlin to the skiff yet.

Still have it but hardly fish it these days. Too much kayaking

Cool stuff, very interesting to see everyone's rides.

Jim, Do you ever just sit still? Do you ever just put your feet up and do nothin? You are one busy dude, that boat looks like it got some major time into it.

Yeah well.... Not really.

Once after a big fabrication job the client asked me what I'd do for time off, after I got paid.

I just laughed and said now I get to build my stuff....
