Nice looking setup Iceman. I am curious. With that style rod holder mounted up front, can you still slide forward enough to access the front hatch while on the water? Can the rod holder posts be easily removed to allow the kayak to slide on to a roof rack for transport?
What is that thing hanging out to the right of the FF? MuddyMike, the plastic rivets that OEX sells are great, kind of expensive but they work really well. Bob |

Looks like the FF, battery and transducer at set up so that they can be completely removed. The bar off to the right, has the transducer mounted on it so it can be submerged over the side of the yak instead of sending signals thru the hull.
My buddy does something similiar with his FF. Not sure how drastic an affect it has on tracking but it obviously provides better signal quality instead of a thru hull install. |

I believe that it's from MadFrog.com It's for the transducer to hang over the side into the water instead of mounting it inside the hull. I'm planning on using one for my transducer since it has side imaging and must be in the water (no inhull mount for it).

Mad Frog transducer mount.
I wouldn't know a good sonar return from a bad one........ ![]() But, you get exact temp reading at all times.... and you provide your sonar the perfect conditions for performance while eliminating ANY doubt in your mind. "Is this the best that my $600 FF is supposed to do?", now you know for sure. ![]() |

These rod holders pull out leaving no ball, it is a flush mount similar to Scotty's only smaller hole.
