New Custom Rod Shop in Point Loma...Awesome !!!

What up BWE......

Just wanted to give you all a heads up...
I had been looking for a new Jig stick and reel combo for
the past few weeks...waiting for some $$$
Today after cruising Craigslist and doing some research, I
kinda new what I was looking for....
I noticed a Posting In the sporting section of CL for a "New" shop in PL
M&M Custom Fishing Rods and Repair..
So I gave them a call...Spoke with a gentleman named Monte....

Told Monte I was looking for a Diawa saltist reel....
he says, I don't stock them but give me 30 min....
Gave him my number....
Monte called me back within 10 min ... with the reel and a great price.....
He asked me .... you lookin for a rod as well.... well yes.... I am ...
I told him im lookin for a 9" deck hand jig stick.... he stated of a few poles and prices and told him there just out of reach $$$. He said well come on down and I see what I can come up with......

So I headed down to Rosecrance ...found M&M...walked inside
and was blown away..... A very clean and well organized shop... best selection of irons ive ever seen.... and a wall full of sick ass custom rods...

Monte.... a tall Fish tattooed ZZtop looking hombre asked...you Travis...
YEUUUUUUP. We break the ice over some friendly banter and then get down to business.....He hands me the reel and ask me if I wanted to check out a pole he set aside for me.....yes...I would.... he pulls out a cal star black graphite 9"custom wrapped, gold plated eyelets, Lookin supper sexy.... hows $170.....
SOLD.....
Not Only did Monte exceed my expectations but he hooked a brother up...
$15 to fill the reel with 65# spec.... $5 to fill another with mono...
Great deals on irons... tons of beautiful Avet reels.... hooks, gear...
And some of the best rods ive seen......

I asked Him if he has heard of BWE, he said no....
Told him I would give you all a heads up... Check them out folks...
Tell em your from BWE...and he will make sure your set up....

M&M has been around forever, they just used to be in Lakeside.

I have a few rods from them back before I wrapped, super quality work but sometimes pricey as well.

It was a weird location for a rod shop that specializes in saltwater gear. I think Point Loma will be better to them.

Ya Monte's wife worked at the Hallmark about a block from us, my wife knew her and kids took dance class right next to M&M. The archery shop there made more sense! Good move!
