Carbonbass, you probably already know this, and you followed the regulation, by only keeping 5 bonito that size, each. You can keep an additional 5 if they measure 24" or more, nose to fork lenth (usually over 5lbers).
I remember the days when there was no limit on boneheads. Since they've been much more scarce nowadays, it makes me regret keeping large quantites back then (1970s). They have had to time to recover since then, but haven't yet. I think they will someday.
They truly are the biggest treat (IMHO), both eating and fighting (on appropriate tackle) we have in SoCal. I just wish there were more around.
